I walked up the road and then back over the hill behind the 'paddock' and barn to check on the piano. Still there! Can you see the metal frame? Do you remember the ceremony we had?
This foundation really stuck out to me today. It's near the piano frame. There are stone steps on the left. It's interesting to imagine what it was like when it was being used. As a home? As an farm animal shelter? For food storage? Who knows?
Here's a view of the homestead from the same hill - or 'esker' - as Uncle Chuck would call it.And this is still my favorite memory spot. I still can remember the escape into many a book perched on top of the hitching post, when the noise and excitement got too much inside.
And finally, a stop at the cemetery (found it first try this time!). Remembering Nanny and Poppa and thinking 'happy birthdays' to Mom and Dad this beautiful March spring day.
